We braved the cold and ridiculous wind and took a walk this afternoon around Soho and the Lower East Side. I highly recommend Housing Works Used Bookstore and Cafe for cheap books and a good place to get a cup of coffee and sit for awhile. Plus, you feel much more virtuous than if you are sitting in a corporate Starbucks with a $5 coffee.
We then headed over to Yonah Schimmel Knish Bakery for some food. I've only had a knish once or twice in random delis and really didn't think they were that great. Well, I have been officially converted. Their knishes are $2.50, delicious and hit the spot on a frigid day. Potato goodness.
